NS WAV4 - Split/Cracked Fingerboard

Got a WAV. I LOVE it.

One problem:

Found a major crack in the end of the fingerboard when I got home from XMas holiday. NS was great about the exchange and actually mailed me a new one before I sent the existing one back. KILLER customer service. 2 days into owning the new bass the fingerboard split in almost exactly the same spot again! Argh!

Has anyone heard of this happening with these instruments? I just emailed NS this morning... l guess we'll see what they say....

(click on the photo... the crack is easier to see)

Yup, mine too. Same place. I suspect the boards are being cured too fast. Been waiting for NSD to respond to my email. I think I'll follow on with a phone call later today.

They're on it...

New info this morning from NS:

NS is hip to the problem and they're in the process of changing a few of the materials used in production. They were super cool about a replacement. I have found them to be incredibly responsive to email/questions/problems. They're a great company. We're in good hands. :-)

Yes, I have to agree. I spoke with Sales today and they know they have a problem. They're replacing units as they go. Just waiting for my shipping instructions now.

If they continue with this kind of support, I'd consider a CR4T in future.

Me too. I talked to Mike at NS today, and they are shipping a replacement ASAP. Great customer service.

Received my replacement today. Kudos to everyone at NS Design. They did good by me. I'll spend more money with them as a result of their professional manners and excellent customer service. I'd recommend them to anyone.

+1 NS customer service. I had to send back an EU6(one of the first to the US) and they were falling all over themselves to make sure I was happy in the end. Good People.

Kudos from me to NS Design also. I got my replacement last Monday. Dave was a super nice guy and they really bent over backwards to take care of the problem.
