Playing EUB in a regular chair?

I've always played my BugBass sitting on the same stool used for my URB...it feels natural to do so.

Now, I'm looking at a pit orchestra where sitting on a stool might get in the audience's line of sight. Last night, I pulled the endpin out just a little and sat in a regular chair, sort of a modified cello position, with the bass a little more toward the left leg.

Surprisingly, after a few awkward minutes of playing, it started to work. I enjoyed both the back support and the feet flat on the floor.

Anybody else playing their EUB this way?

I've only sat at my computer chair with my BugBass, for transcription purposes. I usually use an electric bass for this; the double bass is out of the question for sitting, and when standing it's hard to operate playback on the computer. It's kinda neat that the EUB endpin goes in so far as to be able to sit that low.

I frequently play my CRM5 sitting in a standard chair. I use the "scissors" stand and try to get a good angle to the bass. Works great.
