practicing with headphone

my wife just got a wav 4 for one of her schools. Since there is no phone out, whats needed, a headphone amp?

Any ideas on something cheap, just for a student to be able to practice at home without lugging an amp?

I also just remembered I have a presonus HP4 around the house somewhere. That should do till something smaller gets here.
