Similar to the NS Design Bass Cello?

Looking for a cheaper alternative to this instrument. I want to learn cello for classical and play bass for jazz. So if you know what I mean, I'm looking for a realistic substitute which is exactly what this instrument is -- it's just too pricey!

Did you try Google with "electric cello" ?
I'm getting several results, including products from Jensen, Jordan, Yamaha, etc.
