Am contenplating a used Stagg. What is the difference between an EDB and a HDB. They appear the same on the pictures and specs.

Thanks

I am going to buy a Stagg upright electric bass. One is an EDB model and the other an HDB model. Can you tell me if there is any difference? There is in price!

Thanks in advance for your help.

The electronics unit on my Stagg EDB-3/4 is marked HDB-200. Since there is no other model number on the instrument, I guess, that used EDB-3/4 are often named HDB-200 because this is the only model number they can find.

But this is only a guess.

But there is a newer version using a stronger headstock and a rosewood fingerboard, which I would prefer, because if you try to plan a painted fingerboard, the brighter neck wood might shine through.
Or you can remove the black paint completely and use a naturally bright wood colour for the fingerboard. But there is still some work to get the fingerboard plan after that.

The rosewood fingerboard is stronger and will keep in shape much longer than the standard EDB necks fingerboard (which is one piece of wood, so you cannot change it).
