Stick Bass Vs. Double Bass Height & Angle

While I got used to my Ergo on the stand pretty fast, standing with it is more tiring than with my double bass.
The double bass kind of creates a "third leg" and makes standing easier for long gigs.
I tried putting my Ergo at a more of an angle and up higher than my double bass and it made it a lot more playable.
It made a particularly high energy, outdoor gig no trouble at all.

What are others experiences with these differences?

Since it doesn't have a stomach rest, how do you manage to prevent it from twisting?

Regards,
François

It is on a tri-pod. Which I don't mind, it makes it easier to work with a laptop for one.

Yeah, the lack of a 3rd leg bothered me. I just couldn't feel natural about playing on a tripod stand. When I play money notes I like to lean back and when I go for thumb position I like to lean forward and the tilt the bass straight up and my stomach into the upper bout. I only felt confortable if I was seated when using a tripod - which is nice I can almost use regular chairs with the NSD. Still it somehow feels confined despite the lack of a body.

Also, if I like to move around a bit while playing, and I feel like I can't with the tripod. If I do, then my physical relationship to the bass changes more drastic than something on an endpin.
