Will a "method" book help me with my EUB technique?

If you want to use an URB fingering method, yes (assuming the method book to which you refer is for URB). There are ebass players who use modified Simandl fingerings on their fretted and fretless electric basses, often because they come from URB.

If you intend to eventually pursue a "full size" EUB, then it would be wise to learn this method now.

The whole Gary Vance series is really helpful, or it is too me at least. The pieces they have in there to work on your technique are pretty challenging. The Nanny concerto is in the back of book three, as well as the Keyper Romance and Rondo, both of which are challenging and cool sounding pieces.
