Would you rather...

Own a cheap plywood double bass, or a fairly high end EUB?

Whichever has the tone I like more, the most responsiveness and playability.

I dont even use my cheap ply bass anymore, all my other instruments kick its butt. My electric double is miles ahead of the ply. I havent been impressed by a cheap ply in a long time.

As far as high end electric double basses go, theyre perfectly able to compete with any top bass out there, electric or acoustic, you name it.

I' d go with the EUB. I like decent upright basses. Not crappy ones.

An EUB with a good setup is far better than a cheap acoustic.

How are you supposed to spin your EUB if you're playing in a rockabilly band? It's not the same... go with the cheap upright and paint flames on it!
