I would prefer a local sale on this one. Shipping this bass was the disaster in the first place.
Up for grabs is a Fender BG-29 Acoustic bass. Active, Fishman Basic Preamp, 4 string, 30" scale. Nice unplugged tone, louder than other acoustic basses. Electronics work.
Full disclosure:
there was a neck crack that happened when the bass was new on display. The shop repaired the bass and the neck is now 100% functional. It needs a setup, some work with the piezo/bridge. I bought the bass for a discounted price after the repair.
I shipped this bass after a sale to a Talkbass member and it was damaged during shipping. Fedex paid a claim on the bass which I gave to the talkbass, but this thing has been sitting in my house for a while now. its not being played, its getting no respect. It needs a repairman to fix the dink on the back from shipping, but it would work well for somebody who does not care.
The price is low. I don't feel like shipping it, so I'd be open to local sales right now. Boxing this thing is difficult, finding a box costs money. I would ship it for actual shipping costs, but Its most likely going to run over $35.
Regardless, make an offer if you would like a playable but needs repair/TLC acoustic bass.
