***'07 Warwick Corvette $$ ( double buck ) 5 string Nirvana Black****

Sign in to disble this ad
Here's the deal: Purchased this bass to compare with my '05 natural finish $$ 5, as I prefer the look of Nirvana Black. Get both, compare, and sell one. I intended on keeping the black and selling the natural.....

Well, turns out that I just can't part with my long time go-to natural $$ 5.....so I'm putting this up for sale.

It's sounds great, plays great, and is rock solid.
Sounds pretty much the same as my natural one.
As a note, the Nirvana Black $$ 5 seems to have a slightly slimmer neck than my Natural (ultra fat).
So if the fat neck has kept you away, this is the bass for you.

The bass has some bumps and bruises, and you can see pictures here (or below): http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/w...k-sale-819245/

I filled the wear spot below the highest string with a little black wax, to make it less noticeable.

It's a really great bass, but I can't justify two of them.

$800 shipped and insured to your door with non-original hardshell case (lower 48)

Paypal preferred.

I played a $$ locally and was amazed at the tonal variety this bass had!

Bump for a good bass and seller!

Totally.

The series/single/parallel switches on each pickup, pickup blend pot, treble/bass tone controls, and passive/active push pull.....it really can do a lot.

I've found them to be completely versatile. From smooth and fat, to punchy and growly, to old school passive P, to a great J tone with killer low B, to aggressive Stingray-ish tones.....plus a bunch of it's own configurations and tones.

Lately, I've been experimenting with using one pickup in series, and another as a single coil....then using the blend to even out the pickup balance.
Amazing tones to be had, that I hadn't really discovered in over a year of owning my natural finish $$5.

Great recording tool, great tone live, and built amazingly well.....tightest neck pocket I've seen.

Anyway, Thank you madbassplaya !

I think you'd dig it.
Too bad you just got something else.

Not 100% sure.....

I've only played these two Wicks and a Thumb NT 5.

What I can say for sure, is that the Nirvana Black's neck is visibly and dimensionally thinner (measured like 1/16" thinner at the first fret) than my natural. The natural finish I have has a chunky neck, the black is noticeably thinner.

So yes, thinner.

Actually, I may consider trades as well.
I'm really hoping to sell, but you never know.

Well, I'm interested in other warwicks.....anything but a Corvette.
Otherwise, Gibson basses, Ovation Magnums, or just about anything off the beaten path.

I like 5 strings, but 4 strings are cool.....not as interested in Fender basses....but am open to all offers.

Hmm... I love Warwicks too. I wish it were a 6'er. I'd would jump at that a lot quicker. I'm on the fence here with this. Grrrrr......!

Thanks for the bump, and I obviously think you should buy it....no fencing needed.

I'm waiting on a cab I just purchased from another TB'er. (11 days so far, no cab ) I hope I didn't get burned on that.

Let's see how that goes, then I'll have a better idea about the 'Wick.

Could you elaborate on the damage mentioned though, is it the mark under the neck pup?

Well, it's more like a blemish, a shallow divot in the wood. probably 1/8" deep or so. Not sure how it happened, but I colored it in with a crayon.
You can barely see it anymore.

Bought the bass from peg legs, and found the guy that owned it before him on the Warwick forums. He said the bass was in the exact same condition when he bought it.
