We have here a 1972 Fender Jazz, I swore up and down that I would never sell this thing but never the less I am. I bought this bass almost 2 years ago from my boss's, (Cooldaddee, here on TB) Dad who deals in the buying and selling of vintage instruments. This particular one came from South Carolina, home of James Jamerson!!! It is all original with the exception of the pickups which are early EMGs, but I do have the original electronics including pots and pickups that are dated 72'. The EMGs were installed without ANY routing or alteration of the originals. Also there are straplocks installed as well as new screws around the pickguard, but I do have the original buttons along with the original screws. Also the original case will be included although it is missing the Fender logo you can still see the outline of it in the tolex it works just fine and looks awesome! This bass has plenty of mojo as you can see from the pictures, although for the most part the paint is in awesome shape, glossy!! If you notice this bass has dots instead of blocks on the fretboard, that is because (according to Fender) it was a special order neck. At the heel of the neck there is a red special stamped indicating this. You can see where the blocks used to be, but were filled in with rosewood and then filled in with the exact same rosewood with dots! I actually had no idea!

So here is what I want, as far as an outright sale I am asking $2800 OBO. Now, I am also open to partial trades but I would need atleast $1800 in cash with it. As far as basses for trade I am looking for 5 or 6 string ONLY! and I really want something with a maple fretboard. Beautiful bass bump. That has always been my favorite picture of Bob Dylan.

Is the bridge original? Looks pretty good for a 35 year old bridge..

The bridge is original, but it does look shiny in these pics! and I am not sure what what the sticky looking stuff is, It isn't sticky, I think it is just crud stuck under the pickguard I think it would come off but I don't really want to go scrubbing away on this beaut.
