Here's the deal on this one. Guitar friend had this hanging on the wall in his bedroom for years. I grabbed it because I wanted one as it is the first bass that I ever played. Awesome to reconnect with the first bass that I ever played. Lots of memories ! I offered to return it to my friend but he refuses to part with the beautiful guitar that I traded.
The problem is that in spite of the emotional attachment, I never gig it. Poor thing sits at home. I love this thing dearly but have had to institute a no gig it, no keep it policy.
March 75 4001 with what appears to be the original case.
Yes it snarls like a Ric should. Thinner neck which is absolutely blistering fast.
Overall wear is excellent. Yes, it has some small nicks and chips. See pics for wear areas. It was clearly played for years. That said, no huge belt buckle gashes etc. It is the real deal in terms of beautiful wear. Clearly never abused.
Everything appears to be original with the exception of wiring, based on commentary from the Ric experts here.
PG has a small crack as noted in pic.
Short paint line crack appears up by nut, and another at neck joint. These appear to age issues versus separation issues.
Neck is dead straight. I put strings on and the bass maintains a med/low action.
Pots are scratchy as heck ! I have not pulled them out and sprayed them. I was just going to order a new wiring harness and be done with it.
I'll do 1300.00 shipped CONUS/INSURED. I will consider trades but please be fair in terms of offering an instrument of the same caliber. Fair trade value for fair trade value.
If you require additional pics, be glad to take them. I will be out of town for a few days but will check PM's regularly.
This really needs to go a Ric loving home. This bass needs to back up stage, doing what it does best.
I reserve the right to pull this add if I cry myself to sleep.
