I have a Benevente body that was constructed as a joke for one of his close friends for sale.
He never wanted this bass to see the light of day. I got ahold of the body, and wanted to make this my own very cool one of a kind bass...
The problem is, I lost interest, and funds.
I put a bridge and tuners in it, and purchased numerous pickup combos and electronics for it. Routed out (poorly) the elctronics cavity, and attempted to put a nut on it.
After the nut came loose, and the preamp I had in it died, it was shelved.
I am not a wood worker, nor did I modify the bass in any way, with the exception of the routing for electronics.
You get the bass body and neck (Set neck all one piece) with all the tuners, and bridge, pickups, pickgaurd, and nut, strings, and everything I have for it.
In return I want $300 plus actual shipping costs. It will be insured and shipped via UPS with the Pack and Ship Promise.
Cost is around $65 to do this, but worth it.
I can post pictures up for you later. I will take a few and get them out to you ASAP, and post them here.
Looking for a quick turn around. Make offers.
I have no idea what the wood is that makes up the bass. I had it together and playing for a show and a half. The bass had some amazing tone out of the passive MIM Jazz Bass Pickups that are installed.
I found an EMG I am including with it. I only have one, but another shouldn't be too hard to source.
The body shape is incredible, and while looks really cool, it does have a few issues, but again, this is a project bass.
Issues:
1: Neck Dive. It is inevitable.
2: There was some clear coat, or a seal around the neck that is chipping off, it needs refinished, or deal with the chipping.
3: The nut needs installed again.
4: The sticker residue needs removed from the back.
5: The electronics need sorted. Right now, both pickups have volume, and a switch to select between them and blend. You can add a tone knob, or not, but one pickup is real quiet.
Overall, it is a really cool project. Chris was a little upset I had this, only because he thought it was destroyed.
The bass plays well, and had a little neck trouble, but after having strings on it, the neck seemed to fix itself, but I would have a pro look at it. The trussrod works, but the fretboard may warble.
Overall, you are getting a solid project bass. I wanted to leave it white to keep it original, but if you refinish it, it could be a real head turner. Kinda reminds me of the Ibanez Iceman guitars, but for bass.
I can say with certainty.... You will never see another person with this bass. Chris will NOT make anymore, I have asked.
Here is what you get:
Bass Body with Set Neck
Gotah Tuners
Bridge with Piezo
Pickgaurd
3 Pickups
Pots
Knobs
Strings
Strap Buttons (Or locks if I have a spare set)
All the spare parts I have aquired
$300 obo. I might have a hardshell for it as well. Seriously, make an offer. I am looking at an Ernie Ball Music Man, and I need the dough.
I will trade for Marshall Bass Amps or cabs or interesting pedals. To give you an idea of what I do, here is what I have.
-Human Gear Animato
-Akai Deep Impact
-Digitech BSW
-Way Huge Swollen Pickle
-ZVEX Woolly Mammoth
-Boss OC-2
-MJM Britbender 3 knob
