I'm trying to raise funds for my upcoming wedding, and I hardly ever played this bass, so it's time to part with it.
This is a Kent hollow-body bass, similar to a Gibson EB-2. Through my research, I found out that Kent was only around for about 5 years (founded in 1964 and folded before 1970). The truss rod is in good working order. Tuners and bridge are original. There was no pickguard when I bought it, so I made one from photos of similar Kents I found. Pickups are actually Gretsch FilterTrons (the same used in their basses) housed in the original casings. I added the name plates. Pots, switch, wiring, etc were all replaced. Original strap buttons have been replaced. Body and neck were refinished. Knobs are genuine Gibson replacements. I made the bridge base but the saddle is from a Gretsch Broadcaster (just like the pickups). If anything, I'd say this is more of a Gretsch than anything else. The tone is REALLY nice - has that meaty, thumpy vintage sound. Lots of lows and mids. An original Kent guitar strap and Epiphone hard case are included (but not pictured). Overall, it's a wonderful bass. Balances well. The neck isn't sticky. Plays well and fast. I put a lot of time and money into getting it where it is, and I don't want to part with it, but priorities come first.
You'll be able to find a lot of the answers to your questions here, as well as photos, but feel free to ask away.
