I'm parting with my (mostly) 1969 Fender Jazz Bass. The original body for this bass met an untimely fate at the hands of some quack with a grinder who decided he wanted a lower profile body. I do not have this body any more and don't really want to think about it! What a waste!
Anyway, what I have left that is original is everything except the body and the pickguard. Bass currently has a three tone sunburst Fender Original replacement Jazz Bass body. Fender made these up unitl a few years ago in 3 tone sunburst or black. It has the oval logo under the neckplate that authenticates it.
The neck is in good shape, minimal to moderate fret wear, good clean finish and all the inlays and binding in tact. It sets up straight with moderately low action with D'addario .45-.105 strings. It should be noted that, although the truss rod turns freely, it is at its limit on tightness. Also, in the rosewood at the last fret the original owner carved a series of numbers that I beleive to be a drivers license or some other I.D. The same series of numbers is carved on the neck plate, along with "I belong to ........."
The pickups are original as well, however, it should be noted that the bridge pickup has low output as compared to the neck pickup. It plays, and sounds just like you would expect a 69 to sound, but the output is considerably lower.
The bridge is a bit tarnished, as are the tuners and string tree, but all are fully functional.
Here's how I am listing it:
Neck with tuners and string tree $800.00 shipped
Body with tort pickguard $350.00 shipped
All other hardware & electronics bundled $450.00 shipped
The bass is currently assembled. If you want the whole thing I'll do it for $1500.00 shipped.
I'll only ship to the lower 48 US, sorry, no international shipping.
I am not looking for trades at this time.
Thanks!
