God apparently is ticked off at me. Just when I thought I was getting ahead, he decided to make my vans radiator blow and transmission start having issues.
This sucks mightily, but I'm forced to sell one of my favorite basses in the world - my 1972 Jazz Bass. It's not "all original", and she ain't pretty, but she's got tone in spades and plays like a dream. Just an all around amazing bass.
*Original body - stripped (obviously..and long, long ago) and has an extra P Bass route under the pickguard
*Original neck
*Original neck plate
*Original control plate
*Duncan Antiquity Jazz pickups
*75 RI bridge that I aged to match bass
*Old Jazz knobs
*Old Schaller tuners
*CTS pots
*PIO cap
*cloth wire
*I'm gonna estimate it at 8.5 - 9 lbs or so - not heavy at all
This is truly an amazing bass....and it is KILLING me to have to offer it up for sale. The neck has no date stamp, which is normal for 70's - many of them don't. The serial number dates it between 71 and 73, though the signatures on the body lead me (and others) to believe that it is a 71 or 72.... thus I'm advertising it as a 72. Sometimes things get murky on vintage Fenders, and I'd rather err on the side of caution.
Did I mention that this is killing me ? This is the best Jazz I've owned since my 63 that was stolen years ago.
Anyway, I'm looking for $1750 OBO shipped in the lower 48. Sorry, no shipping to Hawaii, Canada, Alaska, or any country but the USA - too much risk involved.
