FOR SALE: 1973 VINTAGE FENDER JAZZ BASS
Vintage afficianados take note! I have decided to relist this instrument.
This bass is a player - not a collectors piece! Some seek out vintage Fenders that are in pristine condition. But all too often the really clean instruments are the ones that just didn't play well. This bass played well, and WAS played well! I've owned and played this bass for the past dozen years, but the bass had a history before I got it.
YEAR: 1973 (serial number verifies this date range)
NECK: Maple, very thin but straight. Attached by a 4 bolt neck joint
FINGERBOARD: Maple with black block inlays & binding
BODY: Alder, black
PICKGUARD: white/black/white three-ply (pictured with a moto pickguard, but this bass includes the original pickguard)
PICKUPS: All original. Bridge pickup is closer to the bridge, which is characteristic of 70's Fenders
ORIGINAL HARDSHELL CASE
THUMBREST: Moved from it's original position by a previous owner
This bass has been a gigging and recording machine! It can get that classic Jazz bass growl, or get a deep rootsy thumping tone. And true to it's appearance it can get that Geddy Lee "Moving Pictures" sound. A lot of people are going crazy now for the Geddy Lee signature Jazz Bass which is made in Japan. This bass was made in the US, and it's the real deal! Not Geddy's personal bass, but made by Fender in the same timeframe. So are you interested?
