1973 Fender Jazz bass (Daphne Blue) FT

Sign in to disble this ad
****** After player her live again this weekend, I have decided not to let her go. I almost made a HUGE mistake*******

I have an early 1973 Fender Jazz, refinished in Daphne blue. Maple board with black binding and blocks. I purchased it a several years ago from a guitar store in Canada (Funky Guitars) for $2450 (american). Here is the information I was given.
Original Neck
Original body
Tuners ?
Original neck plate
replacement p/u's (fender 60's cs)
replacement pickguard
replacement bridge
Pots?

Unbelieveable tone and playabillity. One chip in the paint at the truss rod adjustment screw (done after this pic was taken, I will try to get a new pic soon). Super light weight (I just checked on my digital scale and she is 8.3 lbs).I pulled the neck and it is stamped Feb. 73 which is consistant with the information they gave me. I have what may or may not be the original tweed case, but I don't know how to tell for sure. It is pretty beat, but will get it there safely. Or I can ship in an SKB HSC if you would rather go for practicallity over vintage.

As far as trades, I am interrested in (all 4 strings).

MTD 435
Ken Smith Neck thru
Sadowsky NYC (+ $ from me)
Sadowsky UV70 (+ $ from you)
Roscoe LG3000 (partial trade)
Birdsong (partial trade)
Valenti Jazz bass
USA Jazz deluxe (partial trade)
Lakland DJ with Aeros in LPB or Natual
US Joe Osborne as partial trade.
Ampeg B15 or B15R as parial trade
SVT clasic as partial trade.
Aguilar DB359 as Partial trade.

I will entertain other offers.
Cash price is $2400 shipped in the lower 48. No over seas shipping.

Thanks for looking

Thanks.

I've played this bass several times, and believe me, it is the real deal. If anyone is on the fence about buying it, don't be. It is probably THE nicest playing Fender I've ever had the opportunity to play.

I was told that these are the original tuners. They could have been wrong, but they look right.

People, you seriousy don't know just how sweet this bass is. I have never had anyone play it and not flip out.

Actually the tuners are the Schaller Fenders from mid '76 and later. Short shafts, paddles exposed at the sides of the shafts, and the non-complete backplates. Nonetheless, the Missus and I are having a..um..."discussion"...

I will change the description untill I can find out.
I can't believe this is still here. I will drop the price a little for a cash sale, but not for trades.
Throw me an offer, the worst I can say is no. Well, actually it's not, but I will stick to that.
