1973 Gibson EB3 For Sale - $700 OBO $650 OBO

I am looking to sell this 1973 Gibson EB3 bass. It is extremely heavily modified. As far as I can tell, everything except the wood, finish, and tuners, is not original.

This is an extremely cool bass, and I sunk a lot more money than I really should have, trying to make it what I want to be. It is a blast to play, but it is a pain for me to use live, because it is night and day to the other basses I use.

When I got the bass, it had no bridge, and the electronics didn't work at all.

I replaced the original (probably?) pots and wiring with all new, and replaced the original chickenhead switch with a 3 way toggle switch. I still have the original wiring, and will include it, though I don't know if it works or not.

It had no bridge when I got it, so I got a Hipshot Supertone bridge. The original 3rd mounting hole was routed away to accommodate the Dimarzio humbucker, so I ordered a 2 point bridge. It wouldn't intonate that way, so I relocated the studs to make it work. I also put a couple screws in the back of the bridge just to be on the safe side. It works well now, and looks pretty much factory.

I got the new Epiphone case, which fits it pretty well. Its a little dinged up on the outside. I took it to a couple gigs, but aside from a couple places, its basically brand new. It still smells new on the inside.

I'd like to include this Couch guitar strap, because I think it looks freaking amazing with this bass, and it doesn't even come close to matching anything else I have, but if you don't want it I can knock a little price off and keep it.

There's some serious history to this bass, I only know so much of it, but if you have any questions, comments, or offers feel free to PM me.

I'm really not looking to trade right now, but that's seldom stopped me before. I am trying to generate some money so any trades would definitely have to be +cash on your end, maybe some effects pedals or something.

It is most definitely a looker. I was trying my best to make it sound like a Fender. But in the end I decided it sounds great now, and I should just let someone enjoy it for what it is.

Yeah, the lower horn was cut away to improve the access to the higher frets.
