1974 RICKENBACKER 4001 MAPLEGLO w/ case. Red side dots. Clean
Fire Sale !!!!
In need of quick cash. Up for SALE ONLY (no trades, please) is my June of 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 bass in mapleglo
Red side dots. Grover tuners that feel like zero gravity. They turn effortlessly. Unbelievably low action and a slap and finger monster. I can't say that about most Rics, but this one is special. Not short bus special.
Super low action and new strings. I have new strings on here now that are 45-105 and the Ric sizzles and growls.
This bass is super clean. Well taken care of. Minor issues are a cracked pickguard and a hole drilled in the back for a strap lock. Also, the neck pup was replaced with a period correct vintage Seymour Duncan. I was told this was popular then. Trust me - it sounds like a Ric should sound.
Deep, warm, round, loud, mapley tone !!
Neck thru design. All maple with walnut stripe. Classic Ric fret board, as well.
Words and photos can only tell so much. The wood grain is unbelievable and the neck is the BEST I've ever felt on a Ric. As you know, most Rics feel like a baseball bat. This actually feels like a bass ; It's slim and fast. Now I see why the old 1970's basses are so sought after.
Priced at $1790 SHIPPED OBO for a quick sale. Would LOVE to sell TODAY !!
