1974 A-Width Precision Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
What's not original:

Pots from '81
Nut
Mirror Pickguard

Everything else is original including the case(tail) and covers(foam marks). The back of the neck looks almost new. Overall the bass is in amazing condition for it's age. Half the Fender logo is missing from the outside of the case but the inside looks like new. Plays great, sounds great, everything adjusts fine.

Rare Jazz-width "A" neck, also rare transition body route plus "tug bar" combination.

$1500 Shipped
NO TRADES AT ALL

I live over in Fredericksburg and I would love to have this! Beauty! I am tempted...very tempted but I'm not in a band and I am not sure I'll be in one again so my desire to get myself a vintage P with maple fretboard isn't as high, but I am damn tempted. You firm?

Very cool - the mirror on brown doesn't do much for me, but that's an easy fix. How much does she weigh?

Nice.
How are the frets on this? Dressed recently? Has it been re-fretted?

It's got moderate/light wear, a couple very slight indentations just starting to form on the first few frets. Some flattening too, but nothing major and nothing that inhibits its playability. I'm thinking it's a refret also since there are little chips at each fret end.

I always wondered what a mirror pickgaurd would look like on that color.

Is the pickgaurd metal? And it's drilled for the treble-side tugbar?

Nice bass. Good luck with sale. I have one just like it, but curious about the gaurd.

To clarify, since someone was mistaken in a PM, the pickups are original 1974

If I hadn't just bought a '77 Gibson, this would be mine! Looks awesome.

I have a 1974 in the same colour with a rosewood neck..... I love the thing. Eerily, my bass has almost identical wear on the back. Swore it was my bass at first glance. :-p

Slap a $20 black pickguard on this and it will be perfect.

Bump for a great bass.

P.S. I paid $2k for mine a few years back. $1500 is a great deal with case and covers.

I seriously covet that maple A neck, Dave. If I didn't have too many basses already. . .
