1975 Fender Precision Ash Maple

1975 Fender Precision
Ash Maple
$1,700 $1,550 Shipped in the US

This is a very good condition 1975 Fender Precision bass. I got this bass from a friend of the family who passed away. The metal on this bass could be polished up and made to shine but I have left it in all of its vintage glory. This bass is not 100% original. It is missing the thumb rest. It also has a neck plate from an older 1970-1971 precision on it. I am not sure what the story with the neck plate is but all of the dates stamped on the bass match up. The pickups, pots, pick guard and case, are all original. The finish on the body is in great shape. It has a few small nicks but there is absolutely no finish checking. This bass plays nice and sounds amazing. It has a new set of D'Addario nickle 45-100 on it.
It weighs 10.5 lbs

The neck heel is stamped 01035151.
01= code for precision bass
03= code for fretted maple neck
51= week of production
5 = 1975
1 = first day of the week
It does not have an A or B stamp but I think it’s a b neck. It feels like a normal precision neck to me.

The pots are stamped 1377521 and 137752? See pic.
137 = CTS brand pots
75= 1975
21= 21st week of production

I’m sure there are plenty of questions, and I will try and answer any and all. I am not really looking for any trades but you never know.

Cool bass! If you measure the nut, it will answer the A or B question: A = 1.5, B = 1.625. I'm sure someone will want to know.

Someone commented to me in a pm about the string spacing in the pics being off. Well it is in the pics because the strings were not tight and were not seated in the saddles properly. I took those pics during the process if taking the bass apart to get the internal pics. Once I got the pics I put it all together properly and set it up with the strings seated in the saddles. I did not realize that the strings were not in the saddles at the time of the pics. I can send you pics of the current set up if your interested.

I can't look away from this bass. This is the second or third day that I have found myself coming back to it. I am going to try throwing some cards up on ebay (to minus the hit to the wallet:P) and hopefully it is still around next week. Effing Beautiful. My god.

I'm good on amps, but good luck with your eBay sales. Hope it works out for you.
