This "A" neck Precision has a Jazz pickup in the bridge position which was added in the late '70s according to the previous owner. It's a Seymour Duncan wound pickup
There's a mini switch mounted on the pickguard that was a polarity reversal, but I got it rewired straight V/V/T. The switch is disabled, but could be re-wired for a pickup select or whatever.
The bass has some vintage mojo...dings and scratches. The sides of the neck have some discoloring where the finish has worn off. It has never bothered me or affected playability. The back of the neck is smooth, shiny, and ding-free.
I just had a fret-mill and pro set-up done...so frets are smooth and shiny and it's wearing new D'Addario flats.
Neck is straight and truss rod works fine.
The bridge pickup adds that '70s Jazz bite, while the P pup soloed with the tone rolled off is warm, round, and more "vintagey" than a modern P.
I'm letting this bass go to fund my raging Gibson GAS
I asked a handful of TBers how I should price this...and I'm pricing it well below what the average opinion was, in the hopes of an easy sale.
