1976 Rickenbacker 4001 JetGlo, Ex cond, + case.
Here you go Ric fans: A 1976 4001 in fantastic condition for it's age. Very tough to find one in better condition.
The white binding is aging to a nice yellowing tint, the back of the neck has no marks, and only slight marks on the top of the headstock.
Very little fretwear. The only significant marks are on the back of the body. 2 belt scratch areas, and the wood showing in 1 spot.
No neck cracks, splits, or anything like that. The neck is NOT super thin like many 70's Rics. I would consider it medium thickness. Thicker than a '77 I had, and thinner than the '06 I still have. Certainly no worries with putting roundwound strings on it. New Slinky 45-100 on it right now.
There is plenty of room left on the trussrods as well. The previous owner shaved a little wood under the rod nuts for easier access, I guess. Super low action, and the neck feels great.
The side dot markers look dark brown to me. Not black. They seem to match the fingerboard perfectly. I've heard of red ones, but never a mention of dark brown. I could be wrong though.
The electronics are all original with no modifications. Original case and pickup cover included.
