Here's one for my southpaw brethren (or the odd righty looking to emulate Hendrix). What you're looking at is a 99% all original lefty '77 Fender Jazz bass: black "thick coat" finish with rosewood fretboard/pearl block white inlays, which is very rare for these basses, since nearly all
Js I've seen from this period had a maple fretboard with white pearl block inlays. The only parts not original are the aforementioned bridge/PUP covers (Fender replacement parts) + 2 screws for the bridge cover, and the strap buttons, which are straplocks. (Sorry I don't have the originals anymore).
Cosmetically, the bass is in great overall condition (8/10), especially the neck, which shows barely any fret wear. There are some finish chips on the back and near the neck pocket, and what appears to be a masking tape mark on the lower part of the body behind the control plate, which may come out with some Goo Gone or Goof Off. There is also a slight residual outline impression of the previous Badass II bridge evident in the finish where it used to be (I found the original Fender bridge and it's back on the bass now). I'll throw the Badass II bridge into the deal for nothing, since many players prefer them to the original bridges (myself included). There's also a tiny chip in the bullet truss rod head, but does not effect the ability to adjust the truss rod, which works fine. Otherwise, general overall scratches and belt buckle wear/scratches on back of body, as well as some nitro finish checking on the neck. But again, very nice condition for a 30 year old bass. Comes with original Fender gig bag.
I haven't figured out how to post pix directly into my posts (maybe it has something to do with Firefox/Mac?), so please find additional pix here at:
