It's in unbelievable condition for being 35 years old, only a few nicks on it that I tried to picture. My 1998 Warwick has more dings on it then this bass. It plays like a dream, neck is very straight and fast. It's an aluminum neck which actually goes down the body, not sure if it's technically 'neck-thru'. The koa wood is beautiful, not sure my pictures do it justice!
I believe this is a 77 based off serial numbers of TB 2000s I've seen for sale (#815/1020). It could be a 76. I can't stress again how amazing the condition of this bass is in, the ones I've seen being sold are damaged and have replaced the tuners etc.
Included is the vintage 1977 Fender case.
I'll take better pictures in the day time outside soon! Specs:- All-Original 1976/77 Travis Bean TB 2000
- Serial Number 815
- Koa Wood
- All aluminum neck
- 20 frets - 33.25 scale rosewood fretboard
- Original Schallers tuners
- Original pick-ups/electronics, not sure on the pick-up brand
Looking for $3,500 3,300 OBO, PayPal, no trades please!

Bought it used with more nicks than this one, and that was 35 years ago! It was stolen out of my parked Dodge van, along with my car stereo in downtown Cincinnati in 1979. Walked in a local music store 5 years later and it was hangin' on the wall. Luckily, I had made a police report and they had to give it up to me. The store owner was not happy until I traded it on an Acoustic 220 amp on the spot. These are not light instruments and my shoulder said "NO!, not again!" Great tone out of these, though. They were pooty magnets in their day. Good luck! |

Someone posted a pic of him playing his TB and it looks very similar to this one. This bass has the same if not more sustain than a Modulus TBX I've played on, it's a remarkable instrument. |
