I have got a S8xxxxx Fender Precision Bass in a Rare Wine Red Transparent Finish.
It is all original with the acception of a BWB Pickguard I added when I got it in '98. The pickguard that was on it was non original and cracked.
Bass weighs Approximately 9.5-10Lbs using digital bath scale.
It is far from what I'd call a beater but it does have its share of mojo and dings. (See pictures).
Here's the worst damage on the bass, located at lower strap button;
Here's a small chip in the inside of the belly rout;
Headstock;  .
I'd like if I can to sell this to someone in the Southeast near Atlanta/ North Georgia. I feel more comfortable dealing face to face where there are no chances in shipping damage Etc. PRICE DROP Asking $1000.00
Feel free to ask questions and I'll do my best to answer them.
NOT INTERESTED IN TRADES
God Bless, Ray

| | | My 78 jazz weighs 12lbs, that's why it sounds so good. People just buy the lightest bass possible these days without thinking about what they're sacrificing in sound.
These make great studio basses. Quote:

These make great studio basses. | I also have a '78 Jazz that is fairly heavy and sounds AMAZING!!

Please excuse my idiocy but I had someone else weigh the bass (I'm disabled) and they got readings of 9.5-10lbs.
Apparently I "leaned" on the scale

2 serious questions...
1) Why are you selling an original 1978 P-bass this cheap?
2) Why hasn't anyone bit on this great deal?
This is a solid investment that will only increase in value over time. I'm not even a P-bass fan but if I had the extra dough, I'd pick her up and sell it locally for about $1400.00.
Spark it up, Sparky!

And remember, in hoogie boogie land, there is no war, there is no hate.
