This Ripper is set up nicely and ready to rock. It's tone is deep and throaty. Awesome. The slightly extra scale length, set neck, and string through body all work together to create a very resonant sustaining tone.
This is the same bass Krist Novoselic used to record Nirvana's "Nevermind" and "In Utero".
It's currently wearing DR Sunbeams, all strung through the body, and sound great.
The finish on the back has worn off from belt rash, and the bass has its share of battle scars - but it still has looks that kill. I've seen the natural blonde Rippers around more often, but the ebony/ebony model just looks mean.
I know I will regret selling this bass...but I just bought a 6-string twanger (
) and something has to go.
