Up for sale is my rarely used 1978 P-Bass. Right off the bat it is almost impossible to pin down the exact production date. The serial number, S895471 on he headstock is different from the one on the back of the pick-gaurd, S895671. The serial number on the back of the pots is difficult to read it is either: 0100
12491 or 0100
42491.
It is all original, and I am only the second owner and have had it for about 15 years. It was just expertly set-up by David Wnorowski at Sadowsky Guitars. The man is gifted, and I highly suggest seeking him out if you need work done.
Asking $1700 (I need to buy a new German bass bow, otherwise I would keep it)

Its all black, with a black pick-guard, and rosewood fingerboard.
At the nut, the neck measures 1 1/2 inches, and at the twelfth fret it measures 2 1/4 inches. I think it has a nice D-shaped neck, not too big, and nice and fast for a P-Bass.
There is your standard belt buckle wear, and other miscellaneous scratches on the back along with some paint chips on the back edge. But, its not too much considering the age of the bass.
The only wear on the neck is at the back where I placed down against my amp. A very small, and slight inclusion.
The frets are in excellent shape too.
I have the Bridge cover and pick-p cover, but I am missing the thumb rest.
The case is in excellent working condition. Has the Fender emblem on it, and it is in tact. There are a few minor tears in the cover of the case.
Email with any questions, and I will answer them to the best of my ability. But I am just a player, and I am not a collector and I know just enough to get me into trouble.
Paypal is acceptable, but PAYPAL CHECK ONLY, and once it clears you can pick the bass up. If I have to ship it I'm going to charge at least $60, or more considering the distance. Shipping to lower 48 only. Cash is always King, and pick-up works best. I'm in the NYC area.
