Exclamation 1979 Fender Precision - $750 !!!!!!!

NO TRADES PLEASE!

Letting go of my 79 P. Plays well (could use a setup), sounds great! Why so cheap? Here's why:

The body is the original 79 Fender P body. Body was refined a while back by the previous owner. Said that the nice white had faded to an ugly yellow (I about cried upon hearing this). Anyway, he did a pretty good job on the refin. It's a trans-red finish and you can see the ash grain through it. Low gloss. He told me it was nitro. He also moved the strap button from the horn (and filled the hole before the refin) to the top of the neck heel. Don't ask me why, it can be moved back in a few minutes (drill a new hole in the horn and you are set). Sorry the crappy cell pictures don't show the grain, but I'll take more pics later this week.

Electronics were replaced back in the 80's w a DiMarzio P pup. I don't have the original.

Pickguard is not stock.

Bridge is a Bad Ass II

Nut is brass (another late 70's - 80's "upgrade").

Neck is straight, frets are in very good shape. Bass a reasonable weight. Shoulder tells me 9 - 10 lbs which is not bad for a 70's ash bodied P.

No case (unless you toss me a few bucks extra).

Again, I'll snap better pics. I had the screws off the pickguard in these pics because I was running a new ground wire to the bridge.

Will weight this eve. TBer j.kernodle has a couple of things that he wants me to look at on the bass. I'm going to do that for him and I'll let the rest of you know what happens. He got to me first.

My scale reads 9.2 lbs. The shoulder method was pretty accurate after all!
