Bass is in excellent condition, and is all original. If you guys know these basses, you'll know that the pickguard always cracked in the same spot. I had the luthier at the guitar museum here in NY (Chris) create that little tail piece, and there is a white pickguard in the case (non orig). I have searched high and low for another pickguard, and cant find one. Original case is in good shape, all latches work. I do not have the pickup cover. Weight approx 8.5 lbs (bathroom scale, lol)
The neck is dated 77-78 but the pots are dated 6th week of 1979, so Ill take that to think it is a 1979. I am not the original owner. I bought the bass solely for recording (this one has redonkulous tone), and it has never been played out. It was last used on Carl Roa's latest album (
www.carlroa.com) about a year ago.
The bass was recently cleaned up and set up by Sal Tine (
http://www.theguitarfix.com/), who is really amazing, and takes care of all my basses. 45-105s are on it now.
I'd love to see it find a new home...someone who is serious about tone and feel. I am now in a cover band, so having phenom recording tone is not a necessity now.
I realize ive never sold on here...my ebay userid is stu1965, i guess you can use that to see my 'feedbacks'.
Will be on ebay next week.
