This is the hardest sale I've had to make in a while, but I've got medical bills and an upright bass that needs a bit of work, so I'm putting this one on the block.
Musicman offered a narrow width option in the late 70s, but they're quite rare: I've only seen a couple even mentioned online, and this is the only one I've ever seen in person. It's a beautiful neck, J-width, but a bit thicker front-to-back than a typical J. The back of the neck has some dings, but none of them are deep, and the neck feels wonderful in the hand IMO.
Body is very handsome two-piece construction, neck has some nice birds-eye figuring on it. Body condition is very clean, chrome on knobs and control plate still shiny. I think it's a great looking bass, my ideal Musicman look.
Tuners turn smoothly, truss adjusts fine, electronics work/sound wonderful. Recent pro setup, bass plays great. Weight is 8.78 lbs, very light for a Musicman!
These late 70s Sabres have really been appreciating in price of late, with regular-neck models being offered on ebay for close to $3000. The narrow-width option is a rare and IMO very desirable upgrade over the regular neck width, and adds value to the bass in terms of playability--IMO--and undoubtedly in terms of collectibility.
I have what I believe is the OHSC for it, although I'm not certain it's original. The rest of the bass I'm certain is original, having confirmed the neck, body, and pot dates.

I got an amp (Mesa Walkabout) from kittyboy awhile back. He was great to deal with, the amp was exactly as described, and his packing was insane -- overdone, even.
