I had this one up for sale a while ago and just couldn't part with it, but its time to find it a new home. This is a very clean pre-EB Stingray with a B0 serial number. The finish has yellowed nicely and has typical checking of a 31 year old bass. There is a small wear spot on the back, but its not worn thru. It has a few dents and minor playing wear, but thats about it. My bathroom scale says its right around 10 lbs. As far as I can tell everything is original to the bass, including the case. The serial number, neck and pocket dates, and pot codes all date out to '79.
It plays very well and sounds like a pre-EB should, everything works and functions 100%. Again, this bass is really clean, darn near excellent condition, but..........
at some point this bass must have belonged to Mesa High School because the name is engraved on the neck plate(see pics), and an inventory number of some sorts is on the back of the headstock.
I'm looking for $2000 shipped CONUS. Sorry, no trades as I'm funding other projects. Thanks for looking!
