1981 Rickenbacker Doubleneck 4080

Sign in to disble this ad
I've decided to put my 4080 up for sale after enjoying it for awhile. It's a 1981 mapleglo with 4/6 string combo, white binding, shark inlays plays great and has the best bottom of any Rick that I have heard. It comes with it's OHSC that is in pretty decent condition with only a few tears in the leather around the corners.Price is $5500 shipped(echeck or cashiers check preferred).I will entertain trade offers for Sadowsky Modern 5s+$$,Celinder 5s+$$,Carl Thompson,Alembic 5 JPJ,Fodera 5(+ or-$$),F bass Caron 5 fretless+$$.Thanks.

Love that thing! I'll only buy it if it's under 9 lbs.

It's about 14 lbs ,not bad for a doubleneck.I had a 13 lb. '62 Jazz that I swear seemed heavier.

All set for your Genesis Tribute band.

Mike Rutherford's 4080 was a Jetglo though, wasn't it?

One of these days I am going to plop the cash down for one of these 4080s and then I will be divorced. Again.

...except that Paul's was a lefty...now a lefty bass/righty guitar: that would be a unique combination...

(love the 4080, btw...wouldn't pay that much for any instrument, but it's a really neat guitar/bass, in a cool finish)

Free bump for a super cool guitar. Wow! you don't see these every day. I just watched Rush doing Xanadu on youtube and Geddy was playing one of these and working the bass pedals... Best of luck with the sale.

That's super cool!

Of course, if it had a third neck with a twelve-string you'd really be in business!
