1981 Yamaha SuperBass 500s/Flamed Nato Body/Maple Board/Aguilar

This bass was only offered in Japan. It's similar to the BB series with the PJ pickup combinations but this has the 2 J Bass pickups. The large plastic covers make it look like Humbucker/Soapbar type pickups but they are standard J size inside the covers.
This has been a players bass and has been used. There is still plenty of fret left. Everything works and sounds awesome. There are signs of use on the body near the front pickup, 2 small chips near the upper horn and some wear signs on neck. All are normal wear for a bass that's 30 years old.

This bass has been upgraded with the following:

Aguilar 2 band preamp
Seymour Duncan Classic Stack pickups inside the Yamaha plastic covers
Passive/Active switch
18 volt system with passive switch

This is definitely one of those "J Bass on steroids" kind of instrument

Such a great finish, you know that a Yamaha is going to sound and play great, and I've heard another bass with Halegroove's Aguilar mod and it sounds fantastic. Someone is going to be very happy with this bass, if they're smart enough to grab it.

Back up for grabs. The back of the neck has been shaved down to feel more like a Lakland. It was done professionally with a Danish oil finish by Justin Kennedy Guitars.
