1982-83 Fender Dan Smith Precision bass Sienna Burst w/OHSC BEAUTIFUL!!

First off, I will say this may be one of the cleanest 30 year old basses you will find, period.

It is a 1983ish Fender Precision bass in Sienna Burst. I do not exaggerate the condition. The ONLY issue I can find is a minute amount of scuff on the ball of the headstock. The case is actually as clean; considering these Fender plastic cases break easy it seems this bass was trapped in a closet in a collection. The pictures are simple, it is cut and dry. I also believe I have what is the original thumbrest.

Looking for $1250/BO shipped. Would be interested in trades for: Ric 4001, limited color Rics of any kind, any old Fender amps or guitars/basses, Gibson T-birds (NOT burst or black), Gibson Les Paul. Will ship international: that can be negotiated.

Hmm, bump. Surprised there's no interest. On the local CL I got about 5 hits in 24 hours. I noticed TB'ers are about trading up these days - I only am interested in trades for what. I've. listed. Nothing else. Thanks!

Rehashing this old thread with a bump - I still have it and after mulling for a few months am bringing it back up for sale. I found a P-bass that serves me sufficiently enough at a more economical price. I no longer have the case though I believe - I think I actually sold it at some point. I have other cases though if you are interested in a case - just not the original.

Also price reduced to $1200 on account of the case.

What is the nut width on this fine instrument?

And how much does the bass weigh?

Thanks!

Just what they refer to these are post-CBS for a couple-few years. This one might be slightly past the "Dan Smith" label but it is essentially from that period.

Just a title for a time frame in Fender's history. Significantly better quality than most of the 1970's Fenders was the contribution of the short period.

I'll get weight and nut width tomorrow morning. I don't find it to be particularly heavy and the nut width is probably 1 3/4". Definitely a wider nut.
