1982 Fender Precision Special Walnut Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Here is a pretty rare and cool P Bass. Made at the Fullerton plant.
It's all original and comes with original tweed case. The body is Walnut wood, with a maple skunk stripe and gold hardware. It has active electronics and can be switched to passive by flipping the switch. Weighs about 9 pounds.
There are a few dings. The most noticeable mark is a checking line on the bottom horn. It is not a crack, but just a line where air has gotten underneath the finish. Also the finish has receded around the frets. The frets are original however.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
$2000 shipped.

Did I once see this at Atlanta Bass Gallery? If it was, then this was the first fender(real or clone) I ever thought "oh I want to pay copious amounts of money for that!!"

If not, then this is its twin and someone should grab this.

Prime time bump for a fab bass. Great bass, great seller! Pretty certain there were less than 100 of these made, and far fewer in circulation. And in this condition, way less.

Thanks J. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm keeping the 52 P, but I do need to move a few others including this one!

That fret finish issue was probably an old case of fret sprout that got fixed. Free bump for an awesome bass. I'd buy this if I had dough!

I've seen this a lot with older Gibson basses that have a glossy neck. I think the finish tries to breathe and the frets don't move like the neck wood does, so the finish cracks and recedes around the frets.
