Cool 1982 Peavey T-40 Sunburst w/OHSC CLEAN!

Sign in to disble this ad
Here's a rare minty Peavey T-40 with OHSC. I haven't seen too many with the wood grain pattern like this, almost like Tiger Strips. Anyway, not fully sure on what the rear phase switch or 2 rear knobs {tone?}are supposed to do but it has power and seems to cancel hum. The front switch is a 3-way with middle position "off" and each individual pickup seperate with seperate volume control. I am not sure if this is factory wiring..you tell me? Anyway it's a straight, clean machine, sounds amazing and just had a truss rod adjustment and set up by a professional luthier who also checked the electronics. Small scratches hardly visible on back and one scuff mark u can see on the headstock...Asking $375 shipped..

The factory wiring would have a three way neck/both/bridge switch. The rear switch is a phase switch which would only work in the both position which is apparently not present on yours. Then the knobs should be a volume and a tone for each pickup. Also, as the tone is rolled up past about 7 the pickups are switched to single coil. It doesn't seem like your wiring is anywhere near correct, however, the bass is in beautiful condition and is good deal. It should be easy to put back right, which would make it much more versatile. Wish I had the money.

Yes, if you can solder and read a simple schematic, it should be an easy fix. I've done two of them. You might even be able to get the original paddle switches from Peavey.

Bump for a beautiful T-40. The grain on the body is stunning!!
