I am re-listing this to consolidate pix and lower the price....
This is just a great axe. 1983 Fender Precision Bass in black with a maple neck. These were made in Fullerton, too, and have the exact same pickup that is in the wildly expensive "vintage 57 reissues" that go for $2500+.
This bass has a couple of dings and dents, nothing major. Wide and flat neck, and a nice light weight, under 9 lbs. Comes with a somewhat battered OHSC.
There are three things that keep it from being perfectly original:
1. A prior owner switched the guard from what was probably a white plastic one to a gold anodized aluminum one. The guy didn't put any extra screw holes in the body, just left screws out of the new pg where there weren't holes. Find the correct old pg and you've restored it.
2. Prior owner added a thumbrest, and that added a couple of screw holes but they'll be well-hidden by the pg if you decide to restore it.
3. Pickup covers are changed to black ones.
I don't have the original pg or pup covers. Sorry. If I did, I would have just restored the bass and sold it that way.
Some TBers have asked if the electronics are original. I think they are. I've included pix of the pup and solder joints so you can judge for yourself.
I'm asking $800 plus shipping. I will only ship to the Lower 48.
As an owner of one of these I can tell you that the electronics look original.
