1984 Aria Pro II Super Bass Elite I $600

Sign in to disble this ad
I am the second owner of this beauty, it was modded by the original owner who had an Alembic MXY pup and pre installed.

It is in very good condition for a 23 yo bass, a few dings and light surface scratches, it came with a hard shell case, I do not know if it is the original.

Possible trade for a MIA Fender P Bass

$600 plus shipping conus - contact me for payment options.

Bump for a magnificent instrument. I have the SBR-60 which is essentially the pre-cursor to this bass-- identical except for chrome hardware and a red stain finish.

These Matsumoku made Aris, in particular the Superbasses (SB's) are wonderful instruments. As a matter of fact I collect them, rather obsessively.

Aria produced Superbasses to compete head on with Alembics at a lower price point, hence a lot of modded ones you see have been modded with Alembic guts. While I believe in keeping my oldies all stock, I have played modded SB's with Alembic guts and like them quite a lot.

This will make someone very happy to be sure. I cannot say enough good things!

Damn I'd love that. Why have I run out of space!
Two nice SB's are taking up some of that space

A couple questions:
What is the switch for?
How would you describe the sound?
What is the width at the nut?

Thanks,
Karl

The switch does nothing, it was the series/parallel switch for the stock pup.

Sound? Like an Alembic with one pickup in the sweet spot. Very clean and uncolored, slightly bright.

~ 1 9/16 - 5/8

I've gotta chime in again to say it it is mildly criminal that this bass is still for sale. This is the bass that can go from John Taylor to Cliff Burton in the click of a distorition pedal...

Sunday night bump...

This bass plays great - as all the SB's do, with the Alembic pup it becomes truly awesome, make an offer.
