1984 Carvin LB50 4-str w/EMG P/J $450 shipped

Sign in to disble this ad
1984 Carvin LB50 4-string

maple
9.5 lbs
34" scale
Set-in neck
Schaller tuners
1.5" wide at nut
ebony fingerboard
aftermarket active EMGs
Volume/Volume/Tone/Tone
3-way pickup selector switch
Stereo output jacks (one not wired)

I am the original owner. I gigged and pampered this bass for many years.

OH, NO:
The pickup mounting screws are stripped and ought to be replaced. The pickup height cannot currently be adjusted. One of the plates covering the P-pickup's rout was cracked during installation of the EMGs in 1986. It is not very obvious, and has never been an issue, but the crack goes clear through the plate. The ebony fingerboard shows wear and some discoloration.

OH, YEAH:
This bass has remarkable sustain, feels solid, sounds good and stays in tune. It is comfortable and easy to play. Strung with Chromes flats. I think it has a strong Rickenbacker vibe.

The finish is nice, extremely shiny. Nothing I would call a ding, but if you tilt it just right you'll see many indentations, none of which go through the finish. Except for a few tiny ones, the surface indentations are all on the back.

The little switches work but are not hooked up. (They were phase switches originally.)

Includes OHSC (solid and functional, with obvious road wear).

$450 Shipped CONUS. I do not want to trade it for another bass, but might consider accessories in partial trade.

What kind of accessories are you looking for in trade? Pedals, cables, straps? Shoot me a PM with what you're looking for. That is a sexy beast.

Thanks. This was my first bass and I have a real soft spot in my heart for it. I hope the new owner is going to like it as much as I always have.

The accessories I would be most likely to consider are a pedal tuner (true bypass/mute tuning... like the Korg Pitchblack)... a 3" or wider soft leather or padded strap... a P-bass pickup... a ToneStyler multi-capacitor onboard tone control... black ultralite tuning machines... a P-bass body... and especially the universal accessory (cash).

And bump.
