1984 G&L L-1000

Up for sale is my 1984 G&L L-1000 with ohsc. Ash body, maple board and the color is transparent red. You can see the grain of the ash on the body but the photos dont pick it up very well. The bass is in very good condition and there are several small dings around the edge of the body. When I bought the bass, I was told that it was a 1984 model. I never removed the neck to check it, but the serial number B0149XX looks about right. The bass plays and sounds great! Also, it only weighs about 8.8 lbs. Nice and light with killer tone...What more could you ask for? Price is $795 shipped conus. No Trades.

1984 was the year they changed to that headstock, so, that seems right.
That's a nice price for that bass, in that condition, with what appears to be the proper case and all.
Many times, the ash ones weigh much more than that.

I have the brother to this... the L2000 - same year, exact same color, maple f/b, etc. Love it!

In '84, one of my band members opened a small music store and carried the G&L line. The first bass he got was identical to this one, so I decided to try it that weekend.
After the gig Saturday night, the guitarist's girlfriend (who was barely eighteen at the time), told me,"Hey Eric, You oughta keep that red bass!"
"Oh Yeah?", "Sounds that good?" I asked.
She replied," I don't know about that, but it sure makes you look younger!"

Any way....I bought that bass and loved it. Don't know why I traded it off after a couple of years.
I will say that Jaco style harmonics just flowed out of that one soooo easy!
