1985-86 Fender precision bass, MIJ

Sign in to disble this ad
Nice 1985-1986 Fender Precision bass, "A" serial number. A few dings and dents but a nice axe for 24 years old. She's strung with TI Flats and sounds HUGE. Comes with a gig bag, but will take care in shipping to make sure she gets there safely.
Priced at $525 plus shipping for a quick sale.

Great bass! Just a question: I thought A serial numbers were on MIJ Squiers, not Fenders...?

I've never heard that. The "A" serial numbers, according to Fender's own site, designate 1985-1986 axes. Fender had no US production in 1986 as that was right after Bill Schultz & co. bought the company and sent all production to Japan for a year while they set up new production facilties in the US. IIRC, that's when the Squier came off the MIJ stuff, until it was reintroduced later as a super-entry level...

Maybe this is a 1986.

Sorry, I did my homework like I should have in the first place, and I guess the "A" could be found on both Fenders and Squiers coming out of Japan in the mid '80s. Didn't mean to cast any doubts anyway, just my own curiosity.

Great P bass anyway! Someone who wants a solid P should snap this up at that price.
