1985 Peavey Foundation ordered from the custom shop with hand rubbed oil finish just like the Cirrus years later...
Comes with ohsc, and original owner's manual ! This bass is MINT and is 100% original.
I love this bass, but it doesn't get the time it deserves.
Yes, it's a little more expensive than the run of the mill Foundations, but once you hold it, see it,, and play it, you will see where your money went...
A STEAL at $400 shipped.

I've never seen a satin ash body - interesting.

I only ask because refins are common with older Peavey's.
Best of luck with the sale.

Best of luck with the sale. | No, not at all, brotha ! I spoke with the previous owner when I bought this and he told me the story of calling Peavey and having it custom made for him in 1985 new. He specifically said it was from their custom shop. Whether that was just short term lingo for what Timmy is saying, I don't know. This was a "I'll NEVER sell this bass" situation, but I'm kind of going for chunkier necks these days. I don't know, maybe I'm acting too fast by putting this on the market.

It is still, however, a bass that plays like butter and sounds like a jazz bass on steroids.
The previous TB'er in the thread was correct - This was a refinish and was not meant to show the grain.
Either way, it turned out great and had to cost money because the satin finish is perfect.
This is still an awesome bass and I honestly don't know where to go from here. I LOVE the fact that my right forearm does not stick to the bass like it does to a gloss finish does. That's worth it alone, and it's just a pretty bass. It is spotless, too.

I took the Foundation and my "chunky neck" bass to rehearsal. At home most songs are easy to play on "chunky", but at rehearsal where I'm interacting with real live musicians, the Foundation plays circles around it.
So, luckily this bass didn't sell. I AM keeping her !!

You think I have a lot of basses ?? I'm nothing compared to Quadzilla or Danny R !!!
Thanks for the interest guys. I decided, for now, to keep this bass. It's just too nice and plays like a dream. Even though it doesn't get out much, when it does, she has a lot to say.
Feel free to PM me if you absolutely need to have this bass, though...
