Up for auction today is a rare 1986 Fender Fretless Jazz Bass Special (made in Japan).
This bass is the same model used (except fretless) and made famous by Duff McKagen from Guns 'N Roses. This is a actual Jazz Bass Special from the mid 80's not the newer made in Mexico Duff McKagen signature series basses.
The bass is in excellent condition with a few bumps and nick here and there on the body only. The neck I think is in fantastic condition as there are no scratches or nicks that I can see anywhere on the black paint. The fretboard does show use but is in otherwise fantastic shape. The bass was a Glitter Rock White color but has faded to more of a Metallic Creme color as Fender's and Gibson's normally do.
The bass has an upgraded pre-factory grooved BADASS II bridge (in black), upgraded Seymour Duncan Bassline SJB-1 and SPB-1 pickups, has the original F logo knobs with tops and rubber gasket, and has the original Fender Tuning machines.
The bass comes with its original Fender Tweed hardshell case that is in great condition for its age. All locks/latches work perfectly.
