SOLD!!1986 Fender Japan "E 932***" serial number Precision Bass, $575 shipped CONUS- all original with the exception of the b/w/b PG I have on there, also have the orig white guard if you'd rather have that. Exceptionally clean for a 24 year old instrument, frets have very minimal wear. Previous owner stated it was from 1986, but as I have no way to check that for sure (no pencil date on neck..) according to Fender's instrument dating page, it could be from 1984-1987. Bass weighs an even 8lbs, is well balanced and very resonant. An absolute tone monster! It's no surprise why the early Fender Japan instruments are sought after, their quality is exceptional!! Beautifully figured body and neck, like I said, frets show barely any wear. No excessive damge on the body, has a ding here and there, but nothing major. Headstock has one small doink on the edge. It's a player's bass! Currently set up with D'addario 105 rounds, action is slightly higher than I like, but it plays so smoothly I decided not to mess around with it. No dead spots, no buzzes, torsion rod looks like it hasn't ever been touched. Clean Clean Clean!!!
Now for the bad. Originally belonged to a middle school band class, the school name is engraved in the neck plate, and at the base of the neck right near the neck pocket. It could definitely be taken care of, and I probably would if I were to keep this bass for a long time. But it's time for it to move along, and i've happened into a Bass with a much flatter neck than this one (my preference).
so, here it is, $575.00 firm shipped CONUS, your choice of the black or white guards. Anyone local? You're welcome to try it out in person.
thanks!
Mark
