This might be a re-issue of the '62, but it doesn't have stacked knobs...so..? Any way. This one has alot of little dings, nothing major, just alot. Seymore Duncan 1/4 lb'ers(comes with original pups too) 9.0 lbs. This thing sound like a monster....just fantastic. Brass nut. 4 checking lines by the forearm contour. I really hate to part with this one.
I expect it's actually the JB-355. The MIJ equivalent of the MIA Standard J. The only funtional difference is the neck profile - the 62 is a little shallower and has smaller fretwire. The 62 Ri neck has an amber tint and the period correct decal. Nice bass either way and for $500 - that's a great deal. If I was in the market for another J, this would be gone...

The ground strap was a standard feature on MIJ J's of that period. It's a nice feature as you don't have to worry about the bridge ground ever going south... not to mention - it's kind of a cool retro look.
