This is a very well preserved Yamaha TRB-5B bass. It's in
no, 9.7 out of 10 condition with only some minor signs of ever having been played at all and a little pitting on the gold hardware.
These are monster basses that can be seen in the capable hands of players like Nathan East and Lee Sklar. They were the top of the Yamaha line in the '90 and are very well built.
This one will come with it's original Yamaha hard shell case that also in virtually mint condition.
The scale is 34" and the string spacing is 19mm at the bridge. The nut measures 1 5/8" and it weighs 10 pounds 5.0 ounces on my digital scale.
The electronics are very well thought out with both Jazz and P style magnetic pickups coupled with a piezo pickup in the bridge that can be blended in as desired. The preamp is a 9 volt 2 band system with master volume and blend.
I have actually owned 4 or 5 of these over the years and this one is in by far the best condition. There are no dings, dents or chips of any kind in the finish. Not even on the headstock. It looks beautiful, plays perfectly and has a huge voice that's ideal for any kind of music. I'd like to get $1,375.00 shipped in the CONUS for this one!
Although I do know how bad the used market is these days so if you are interested just shoot me an offer and we can go from there. For all you Yamaha lovers out there, don't miss your chance. This is the nicest one you are likely to ever find.
Trades are always a possibility but it would need to be something pretty special. PM me with any trade offers as well.
