1993 Warwick Corvette Pro-Line with Bartolini Pre and Pups

Sign in to disble this ad
Crazy need another bass right now price drop $550!! Up for sale is my beloved 1993 Warwick Corvette Pro-Line. I bought this used back in 2006 when I started playing music again after a 15 year hiatus. The MEC pups were shot so I replaced them with the single coil 9J1 L/S Bartolini Jazz. I am not sure if I still have them but can look if needed. I also had installed a Bartolini NTBT Pre with Bass and Treble boost/cut and I have it running at 18 volts for better headroom. The original pre was missing and replaced with an Augiler OBP-1 boost only and I needed a cut feature as well. This has the original brass adjust-a-nut and the desired all wenge neck for some great woody growl. It feels amazing to the hand. The neck is straight and true and I haven't touched the truss rod in over a year. Frets are still in very good condition ...must be due to the brass frets. I have waxed the natural wood faithfully. The neck is better for medium to small hands. I have gorilla hands btw lol! It has the usual dings and rashes but no crazy damage. My son placed the Choco-Cat sticker and I haven't removed it and won't till it sells.Recessed Dunlop strap-locks installed.
I will ship insured in an old gig bag well packed. I am looking for $700 $660 $550 shipped CONUS!

See below for sound clips

Are you sure that's a Corvette Pro-Line? I know the truss rod cover says so but I'm 99% sure that's a Corvette Standard.
Great price!

I'm pretty sure it is a proline since it has the ash body.

Gotta love those brass nuts and wenge necks.

Standard Corvettes come with Bubinga and Ash bodies. Pro-Line comes with Flamed Maple bodies.

Well then maybe I'm wrong. I knew newer standards came in ash, but hadn't seen that on older ones. All I remembered was the Proline's had a more 'conventional' body wood.

Regardless, a great bass at a great price. I already have an old corvette and I'm still tempted ha ha.

Thanks all. Yes that's a real Corvette lol! I think the standard with bubinga body and the flamed maple are both newer models. The guy I bought it from was living in Germany and actually bought it in Germany in Neukirchen. I really hate to do this, but I need a passive fretless first (I'm really gassing for Jaco bass for sale here on T.B.), and ultimately I want an older Thumb 5 string with the broad neck option. I really love the Warwick sound, it's has a very distinct flavor. It has always cut through the mix. Make me a reasonable offer!

Oh thanks man, I have to sell since I need the funds to buy a bass here before it's gone. I hate selling it though but my 5 string Jazz bass gets the bulk of my playing. I got this back when I was back on the 4 string bus but the two bands I am currently in need 5 strings.

I have a PM for a Romanian sale off the Warwick forum. Though it maybe cool for my bass to live in Romania ( I'd rather go myself!) does no-one want to keep her in the States? Not really that enthused to deal with the hassle of international sales but will to get that sweet Jaco bass.

SoundClips

I have some old recordings. The playing isn't good at all but it's a live show we did in an old band. We were terrible so I quit lol.
That didn't make me play any better but you can hear the Wick pretty well. This was back in 2006 when I started playing again. I am so ready to sell that I will forever embarrass myself!

Sorry about the playing but you can hear the sound of the bass pretty well I think.

Thanks again,
Alvaro

Dude, stop beating yourself up. Some bassists are pure fingerstyle and can't even slap/pop like you're doing.(Ahem, myself included). So keep up the good work. Your bass sounds killer as I knew it would!
SOMEBODY BUY THIS BASS!! It's a steal!!

Ah man thanks alot! In response to a couple of PMs, the bass weighs in at a sexy 8.6 lbs. Also, no neck dive whilst sitting:

The bass is listed correctly.
Before 1998 there were no Corvette standards, only prolines, and they came with chrome hardware, and all the ones I tried (back in the early 90's) at Dana B Goods had ash bodies.
It was only when the stardard line came about around '99, when the proline switched over to maple with gold hardware.
