1994 Fender Jazz Bass MIM - Excellent Condition, Many Photos - NEW PRICE!

Sign in to disble this ad
PRICE DROP TO $350. Also interested in trades for a compressor pedal. Particularly interested in an Aguilar TLC Compressor or an EBS Multicomp.

Here is a fine example of an early Fender "Made in Mexico" Jazz Bass. I bought this bass brand spanking new in 1994 and it really doesn't look all that different than the first day I brought it home. I tried my best to find scratches, dings, etc., but the only ones I could find were 2 tiny (1 millimeter) light scratches on the back. One of the pickup mounting screws is not original, but otherwise this beauty is all original. The frets have almost no wear (I don't play hard at all and I don't slap/pop). The neck is really nice and fast with a satin finish. The nut width is 1.5" and the weight is 8 lbs.

There is only one small modification which actually made the bass play 10 times better: A talented luthier friend of mine suggested that he realign the neck pocket for me so that the pickups, bridge and nut are in better alignment. The difference in sound and playability was dramatic. You'll be happy he did this, I was.

This bass plays, looks and sounds excellent. It comes with a nice gigbag that I got when I bought it, which is in excellent condition also. I will ship free to the 48 states. The price is $400 $350. Sorry about the large photos, I just wanted to make sure you could see all the details.

The camera is on a tripod and I was standing over it sideways looking through the viewfinder.

Sorry to hijack your thread. This is a beautiful bass and your excellent photography in this thread and your other for sale threads really highlight the basses. The reflection was really bothering me, though, in an M.C. Escher kind of way.

Oops. Big mistake. I was listing a P bass also when I typed this. It is definitely 1.5" and pretty slim too. I edited the original post.

Now someone buy this beauty already!

Thanks Sleepy Monkey.

Taken with a Canon 5D with a 24-70 f2.8 L lens. On a tripod. Lighting is a bay window in my living room with shears diffusing light. Just a roll of grey seamless paper in background. Controlling reflections was a challenge as you can tell. This thing is shiny.

Now someone buy it already.

I had a nice black jazz bass just a few months older than this one. They're great.
